The regular season starts in April and lasts until mid-June.
All Stars is a team assembled by the league to compete in the Little League International tournament. Teams can advance through tournaments, potentially reaching the Little League World Series. This is an optional program with an additional fee. All-Star interest is determined mid-season, and team selection happens near the end of the spring season.
Evaluations are a basic skills assessment scored by league administrators and coaches. Each player League Age 8 or older must be evaluated every spring season. Evaluations last about 20 minutes and cover basic skills: fielding, throwing, running, and hitting. This is NOT a tryout—no player will be cut from Little League. Evaluation scores help coaches during the annual draft to create balanced teams.
Teams are formed based on age and skill level to ensure fair competition. No player will be cut from Little League.
Player fees cover Salem-Keizer School District field rentals, charter and insurance costs, team equipment, field maintenance, umpire fees, and more. Each player also receives a uniform shirt and hat.
Players are entitled to a refund under certain conditions. More information
